League Expands to Bishop Bell School

The Bishop Bell Table Tennis Gang

Pupils at the Bishop Bell School in Eastbourne has responded well to the new League competition on offer in their new community table tennis club.

The league has kicked off with some excellent and enthusiastic performances with a total of 6 teams currently taking part.

ETTA Coach, Kevin Haffenden, has been delighted with the response from the young people. ' For many this is their first experience of competitive play and they have responded well. Although we are starting with 6 teams we are happy to add more teams in the early stages if the demand continues to grow. Bishop Bell reminds me of the start of Battle Table Tennis Club and as they say 'from little acorns grow'.

The school is awaiting news of a grant application which will enable the expansion of of junior table tennis at both the new club and in local primary schools.

Our thanks goes to the hard work within the school of Mr Mcalone who has developed so much opportunity for his pupils over the years.
