Schools Tournament - U11 Runner Up


 East Sussex Schools Tournament
 Academy Schools were well represented at the recent East Sussex Schools Table Tennis Event at Filsham Valley School

Although only one trophy came the way of an Academy player, we were well represented in the latter stages of the U11, U13 events in which we had a good entry.

In the U11 events we have around 90% of the boys entries which is extremely encouraging for the future, with many taking part in a tournament for the first time. The Boys event was eventually won by the very experience Josh Bennett but all credit goes to our players, many of whom have only been playing a short while.

The U11 Girls event produced success for Alex from Battle & Langton. In a round robin event she took 2nd place to take the runners up trophy.

The U13 Boys event saw some interesting encounters for our players with a good number reaching the knockout stage. Kieran Dicker reached the Semi finals where he gave a good account of himself against the no 1 seed, and eventual winner, Jack Bennett. Will Ellin could have also reached the semi's however, his luck changed when he met team mate Kieran in the 1/4 finals in an excellent match. A number of other players also reached this stage before bowing out.

The academy wishes all the winners well in the National Finals as well as saying a BIG Well Done to all our players who took part in this years event.
